To the Weihsien-museum team,

Thank you for your message that I am forwarding to our Weihsien Group.

More than twenty years ago ― when we were still young and fit ― many ex-prisoners agreed to share their personal and precious possessions from our days in Weihsien concentration Camp providing that the Weihsien-website (in construction then) ― be free access and non-profit.

A website is ― by definition ― virtual.

Hoping that you will be able to complete your database ― and museum ― to your satisfaction.

Best regards,
Leopold.

Dear Leopold

Hello, how are you recently?

Our museum is organizing and collecting the profils of the survivors of the Weihsien Concentration Camp. With more and more survivors leaving, we are well aware of the urgency and importance of this work. One of the biggest problems we're facing right now is the contact information of survivors. I was wondering if you could help provide contact information for all of the survivors or their descendants that you know so far, it would be a great help to us and it would be a great help to improve the data information. Please rest assured that we will keep the information confidential and not disclose to the public. On the website of "Weihsien-Paintings", we have seen a lot of photos of the objects that came from the camp period, as well as many old photos. At present, the museum lacks a large number of physical cultural relics for exhibition and research, which is an urgent problem for us to solve. I wonder if you could help to contact and collect these precious objects for us. If the objects are inconvenient to be mailed, we can collect the objects in the place where they are located after obtaining permission. If you could help us to obtain old photos and the objects from other survivors, our museum would greatly appreciate it. This will greatly help and advance our museum's historical exhibition and research during the concentration camp period.

Hope the help we have requested from you this time will not bring you too much burden and affect your rest. Now that the COVID-19 is over, hope we can visit you in the near future. Of course, if your and your family's physical conditions permit, we sincerely invite you and your family to come to Weifang.Weifang Kite Festival has just passed, and it is a good time with warm climate and pleasant scenery. The Courtyard of the Happy Way and Weihsien Concentration Camp Museum will do all the reception work, and warmly welcome your arrival.

Wish you all the best!
Sincerely
The Courtyard of the Happy Way and Weihsien Concentration Camp Museum

Dear Leslie,

Sorry for the delay in replying.
All the staff of the Courtyard of the Happy Way and Weihsien Concentration Camp Museum are shocked and saddened by Molly's leave.Passed away in her sleep peacefully, as she wished, was a kind of a wonderful ending of Molly’s wonderful life.In the opening ceremony video of the Courtyard of the Happy Way and Weihsien Concentration Camp Museum, there is an interview of Molly, every time we see her bright smile, we miss her so much.Really appreciate with all the things she has done for us and sharing her story of the Weihsien time so selflessly. All the memories she shared with us, help us a lot to learn more about the history of the camp and the people who were imprisoned there. With the departure of each surviving internee of the Weihsien Concentration Camp, we lost a history witness and a close friend.

Please take good care. Wish we can meet at the Courtyard of the Happy Way and Weihsien Concentration Camp Museum in the future.

Best regards,
The Courtyard of the Happy Way and Weihsien Concentration Camp Museum
