When I met Father Hanquet in Belgium, he liked to say that Jacqueline de Saint-Hubert had such a marvellous voice when she sang that the vibration could shatter a crystal glass. Of course, ... there were no crystal glasses in Weihsien in those days !

Today is the 81st anniversary of the camp’s liberation and I found this at the bottom on a drawer filled with old papers from my mother, Jacqueline de Saint Hubert. As best as I can tell, it appears to have Father Marcel Van Hemelryck’s signature, so I assume he drew it. It’s on old paper, done in pen and is approximately 10 inches by 15 inches.
I remember my mom sharing stories about him and the other Belgium Catholic Priests.
What a small treasure to find on this August 17th, 2026.
